Engesund Fiskeoppdrett AS is looking for a new show host in a 100% position for our visitor center for aquaculture.

The visitor center has almost 4,000 guests annually, with the aim of steadily increasing the number of visitors. Our goal is to offer high quality catering and an unforgettable experience for our guests with both food and catering. The main focus is the aquaculture industry, based on aquaculture and branches of biology, technology, ecology and nutrition.

Visningsflåten has a café and restaurant serving gourmet food based on home-produced fish and local produce. As a show host, you will be a key person in achieving these goals.

Key tasks will include welcoming guests as a guide, preparing food, washing and cleaning, as well as administrative tasks such as booking, marketing, answering emails, further developing the tour concept, etc.

We are looking for you as

• Has good storytelling skills
• Is flexible, service-minded and sociable
• Good communication skills in both English and Norwegian
• Is self-sufficient and tolerates hectic days from time to time
• Can work a minimum of 1 weekend a month, as well as some evening as needed
• Contribute to good hygiene, and comply with hygienic routines, keep the premises tidy and clean

 

It is also an advantage if

• Experience from tourism
• Knowledge of aquaculture
• Interest in cooking
• Background as an educator
• Knowledge of marketing
• Experience with boat driving
• Relevant courses and certificates e.g. D5L, passenger and crisis management etc.

About us

Engesund Fiskeoppdrett AS is a fish farming company that produces 4-5,000 tons of trout and salmon every quarter. Headquartered in Fitjar municipality. The company started in 1987, and has sites in Fitjar, Masfjorden and Solund. The reception room/reception for the viewing center is located in the center of Fitjar, while the viewing center itself is located out in the Fitjar Islands.

The visitor center is a central part of Engesund Fiskeoppdrett's operations, and is important for both the operation and the municipality of Fitjar. It has become a great experience center for both tourism and education. At the visitor center, the goal is to convey fact-based knowledge about the aquaculture industry through guided tours for all guests who come. The company is constantly evolving based on new technology, both in operations and in the exhibition.
