Seasonal employee Engesund Display Centre
We are looking for 8 seasonal staff for the period 18 June - 14 August
Engesund Visningssenter is a modern experience centre for aquaculture. The centre operates an experience centre, a café on our fleet, tourist information and reception in central Fitjar.
Engesund Visningssenter is located in Fitjarøyane, with land base in Fitjar centre, 10 min from E39 at Sandvikvåg ferry quay. Our reception is located here, and we also operate tourist information for Fitjar during the summer season.
At reception, you must be able to be cheerful, welcoming and inform well about the offers at Engesund, in Fitjar and Sunnhordland. You will receive training, but must be able to acquire knowledge about our region on your own. You must have good knowledge of social media and be able to use data.
Our café and Gaida experience centre is located on the Visningsflåten, which is situated in the Fitjar Islands near the Selbjørnsfjord. The café focuses on local quality ingredients, with an emphasis on seafood. People can come here by their own boat or on our regular boat departures from Fitjar town centre. In the café, the tasks will consist of receiving guests in the café, organizing orders, serving, washing up and using the cash register.
The experience centre consists of a guided tour of the fish farm, as well as an exhibition in the basement of the barge. As a gaid, you must be able to tell a story and engage people based on a script. You must be able to acquire a lot of information about the aquaculture industry in a short time.
We are looking for you who
*You are versatile, responsible, structured and reliable.
*Interested in good and local food culture
*Is independent but also good at working with others
*Demonstrates flexibility in relation to work tasks and takes initiative.
*Feels comfortable at sea and can work under pressure.
*Be able to acquire information and reproduce it without aids.
*Have good computer skills and knowledge of social media.
Work tasks
*Gaiding at the adventure centre
*Working according to IK-mat procedures
*Cleaning and dishwashing.
*Serving and checkout
*Be a tourist host in tourist information
*Participation in the care of the fish
I can offer:
*Varied work tasks in an exciting workplace.
*Shift system; one week on, one week off (up to 89% position)
*Paid training, preferably before 18 June.
Eligibility requirements:
*Minimum 16 years old, but priority is given to those over 18 years old.
*Can work evenings and weekends.
*Be able to master at least 2 out of 3 main tasks; catering, tourist information and guiding.
*Mastery of Norwegian and English. Good competence in New Norwegian is an advantage.
*Desirable with a boating licence.
