Engesund Fiskeoppdrett AS is advertising two temporary positions as exhibition hosts at our exhibition center in Fitjarøyane:

100% temporary work

50% temporary work

Both temporary positions last for a little over a year. For the right person, there may be the possibility of further employment with us.

Become our aquaculture host – food, boat and magical encounters with fish and people

At Engesund Fiskeoppdrett AS you will work right in the heart of the coast. The viewing center welcomes around 4,000 guests annually, and we have ambitions for further growth. We offer high-quality experiences through guided tours, food service and dissemination of knowledge about a modern and forward-looking aquaculture industry. On the viewing fleet you will find a pleasant café and restaurant that serves tasty food made from our own fish and local ingredients. As a viewing host, you will be one of the most important faces to the outside world and a key person in creating memorable experiences for our guests.

Work tasks

Welcome and guide guests from all over the world
Disseminate knowledge about aquaculture and the aquaculture industry
Food preparation, serving, cleaning and housekeeping
Administrative tasks such as booking, email, marketing and development of exhibition concepts
Varied work both at sea and in the office

Some evening and weekend work must be expected.

Who is the position suitable for?

We are looking for you as:

Has good communication skills and likes to tell stories
Is service-oriented, social and flexible
Speaks Norwegian and English well
Is self-motivated and thrives in fast-paced environments
Maintains good order and contributes to good hygiene routines

It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have:

Experience in tourism or teaching
Knowledge of aquaculture
Interest in cooking
Knowledge of marketing
Experience with boat driving
Relevant courses/certificates (e.g. D5L, passenger and crisis management)

About us

Engesund Fiskeoppdrett AS is a fish farming company established in 1987, with headquarters in Fitjar municipality. We produce 4–5,000 tons of trout and salmon annually, and have locations in Fitjar, Masfjorden and Solund.

The reception and reception for the exhibition center is located in the center of Fitjar, while the exhibition center itself is located out in the Fitjarøyane. The exhibition center is a central part of the business and an important contribution to both tourism and knowledge dissemination in the municipality. The goal is to give guests fact-based insight into the aquaculture industry through guided experiences.
