Engesund Viewing Center

 

We are looking for several seasonal employees in the period June 17 - August 18.

Engesund Visningssenter is a modern experience center for aquaculture. The center's business is the operation of an experience center with guided tours, café on our fleet, tourist information and reception in central Fitjar. Engesund Visningssenter is located in Fitjarøyane, with a land base in the center of Fitjar, 10 minutes from the E39 at Sandvikvåg ferry quay.

The main attraction at the experience center is the guided tour. The experience center consists of a guided tour of the fish farm, as well as an exhibition in the basement of the barge. Groups of maximum 12 at a time. As a gaid, you must be able to tell and engage based on a script. You must be able to acquire a lot of information about the aquaculture industry in a short time.

Our café is located on the Visningsflåten, which is situated in Fitjarøyane near the Selbjørnsfjord. The café focuses on local quality ingredients, with an emphasis on seafood. People can come here by their own boat or on our regular boat departures from Fitjar town center.

Our reception is a combined tourist information and reception for our business. It is located on land at Fitjarsjøen 2, in Fitjar Sentrum. As a receptionist, you are our face to the public during the season.

The positions will require a lot of weekend work. There is an 8-hour working day, with working hours between 09.00 - 19.00. We prioritize people who can work all season.

We are looking for you as

• Are service-minded, cheerful, attentive, committed, responsible, willing to learn, accurate and fast
• Preferably with experience from the travel industry
• Speaks fluent Norwegian and English, but preferably several languages
• Demonstrates flexibility in relation to work tasks and working hours
• Can work independently over time, but also collaborate well with others
• Contribute to good hygiene, and comply with hygienic routines, keep the premises tidy and clean

Work tasks given:

• Guide groups and tell stories freely from scripts
• Welcoming groups, ensuring security and information is taken care of
• Creativity and storytelling

Work tasks receptionist:

• Tourist information, you must be able to familiarize yourself with information about the area
• Cash register
• Reception groups
• Booking
• Marketing knowledge a plus
• IT qualifications a plus

 

Work tasks café:

• Production of cold and hot food
• Effective
• Work according to IK-mat routines
• General kitchen work
• Serving and checkout

Eligibility requirements:

• Minimum 18 years old
• Service-minded, quality-conscious and detail-oriented
• Speaks fluent Norwegian and English
• Be able to master at least 2 of the 3 main tasks; catering, tourist information and guiding.
• A boat driver's license is desirable.
